OPTC 121 - Ray Optics

This course is an introduction to describing light and characterizing optical elements with an emphasis on the ray nature of light. Elements such as lenses, mirrors, and prisms are covered to enable planning, evaluation, and execution of optical setups. In a lab setting, ray tracing is used to analyze optical systems, leading to the discovery of where images are formed, determination of their magnification and orientation, as well as what types of aberrations can affect the image.
