HOST 101 - Introduction to Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management Credits: 3 This course is designed to provide the student with an overview of the hospitality industry and focuses on the role of the professional manager within the industry. Topics include hotel and restaurant operation; meeting, event, and convention planning; travel and tourism; recreation and leisure management; gaming and casino operation; hospitality marketing; and human resource management within the framework of the hospitality industry. Career opportunities within the industry will also be addressed, as well as the ethical operation of hospitality enterprises
