ANTH 150 - Magic, Myth & Religion Credits: 3 This course examines the spectrum of human interaction with the supernatural. A major focus is on belief systems and practitioners that make the supernatural meaningful and relevant to people’s lives. Modern and traditional beliefs and rituals are studied from a cross-cultural perspective, including many from American culture. The universality of the religious experience, religion’s role in creating social structures, and altered states of consciousness are also studied.
