ROBT 215 - Robotics Enabling Technologies Credits: 3 This course covers the theory of operation of transducers, sensors, and data acquisition devices and techniques. Microprocessor-based control of actuators such as stepper motors, dc motors, hydraulic actuators and “muscle wire” as applied to robotics applications is presented. Physical operation of sensors, computer/transducer interfacing techniques, and processing of acquired data is analyzed, as well as the use of that data in the control of external actuators.
