COMS 218 - Database Concepts Credits: 3 This course provides an introduction to database systems with emphasis on design, implementation, and use in business and organizational settings. Topics include database fundamentals, entity-relationship modeling, relational schema design, normalization, SQL querying, advanced SQL features, physical implementation, data warehousing concepts, and database security. Students gain hands-on experience with a relational database management system and complete a team-based project to design and implement a functional database application. Lab Fee Required.
