COMS 222 - Data Science Programming Credits: 3 This course provides an introduction to the programming techniques and computational tools used in data science. Students learn how to collect, process, analyze, visualize data and write programs using a modern programming language that is utilized in industry today. Emphasis is placed on the practical applications of programming to explore real-world datasets and communicate findings effectively. Individual and team projects will collect and analyze real world datasets in a laboratory environment. An introduction to data analysis libraries such as NumPy and Matplotlib will also be covered. PREREQUISITE: COMS135 Lab Fee Required.
