ENGL 31 - Critical Reading I Credits: 3 Critical Reading I is an intensive developmental course designed to provide students with the foundations needed for reading college-level materials. In this course, students will begin to develop a range of strategies for reading texts from a variety of disciplines, and then apply critical thinking strategies for reading and writing in response to that text. Prerequisite: Placement in this course is determined by the student’s performance on the College Placement Test. This course is neither an elective nor a general education elective. This course is a first level developmental course which carries no graduation credit.
