GRAD 138 - Comic Book Illustration

This course will provide a comprehensive introduction to the language and form of narrative illustration.The emphasis is on teaching the narrative language, use of tools, page and panel design, anatomy,drafting, perspective, storytelling and arrangement of images, while surveying various styles and genresrelated to the topic. Attention to developing essential drawing skills needed to create narrativeillustrations on any level and for many types of applications will be explored. Completed projects wouldbe suitable for inclusion in student portfolios.
